If your 8405 has a display, it shows the ringing 
pattern you are hearing, such as:

 When you hear the desired ringing pattern,

If you have an 8405D or 8405D Plus, you hear 
confirmation tone (two rising tones)

during selection, the process is interrupted and you 
must start again.
