The eXplorist 600 has a weather function that provides temperature, barometric information
a pressure altimeter reading.
• Temperature.  Temperature is displayed graphically as well as textually.  Temperature
measurements can be affected by the internal temperature of the eXplorist.  If you
leave your eXplorist in the sun, it will build up internal heat causing the temperature
readings to be higher than the ambient temperature is.
• Barometer.  The barometer displays the barometric pressure as detected by the sensors
in your eXplorist.  Three states of barometric pressure activity (Rising, Falling and
Steady) are also displayed below the barometer.  These states are based upon
barometric readings over the last 24 hours.
Please note that this is a true barometer, using barometric pressure readings from your
present position.  Some weather services and television reporting of barometric pressure
use a normalized barometric pressure at sea level, so your readings may differ slightly.
• Pressure Altimeter. The pressure altimeter displays your altitude as computed by the
sensors built in to your eXplorist.  The pressure altimeter requires that you calibrate the
altitude every 2-3 hours to help compensate for changes in weather and other factors
that can influence pressure altimeter readings.  Please note that elevation readings on
the Nav screens use GPS information to compute your elevation, only the weather
screen displays your elevation using the pressure altimeter readings.
