1. Before attaching the power cord, make sure that the power

switch on the left side of the printer is turned off. (It is off when

side of 

switch is pushed down.)

2. Attach 

power cord to the socket at 

back of the printer, as

shown below. Then plug the other end of the power cord into a

properly grounded outlet.

Follow the steps below if you are using the printer for 

first time

or if you have just transported the printer:
1. Be sure the printer is turned off; then remove the paper cassette.
2. Turn on the power by pressing the side of the power switch

marked with the vertical bar. The power indicator lights and a

message appears.
