White Balance
White Balance
The camcorder uses an electronic white balance process to calibrate the
picture for accurate color display under different lighting conditions. There
are 4 methods of setting the white balance.

Auto white balance: The camcorder automatically adjusts the white
balance to the optimal level.

Preset white balance: Set the white balance to either [Daylight] or
[Tungsten].

Set color temperature: Allows you to set the color temperature between
2,000 K and 15,000 K.

Custom white balance: You can use a white object to measure the white
balance and set it to one of two preset positions.

When recording under fluorescent lights, we recommend using auto
white balance or setting the custom white balance.

• The [Color Matrix] and [White Balance] custom picture settings
(0 119) take precedence over the white balance settings.
Auto White Balance
The camcorder constantly adjusts the white balance automatically to
achieve an optimal level. The camcorder will adjust the white balance if
the light source changes.

Set the AWB switch to ON.
• The A icon appears next to the color temperature on the screen.
• When you set the camcorder to full auto mode (0 47), auto white
balance mode will be activated.
NOTES
• Custom white balance may provide better results in the following
cases:
- Changing lighting conditions
- Close-ups
- Subjects in a single color (sky, sea or forest)
- Under mercury lamps and certain types of fluorescent lights
