Uninstall the NMI Software Directly From the DNCS
Follow these instructions to uninstall the NMI software directly from the DNCS.
Important: The DNCS must be running when you uninstall the NMI software.
1 Close all graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and open windows on the DNCS.

Note: You may need to close the following windows on a typical system:
DNCS Administrative Console window
DNCS Administrative Console Status window
DNCS Monitor window
2 Open an xterm window on the DNCS.
3 Type ps -ef | grep _ | grep ui and then press Enter. The system checks for

4 Does the output from the command you executed in step 3 include any open
user interface processes?
If yes, follow these instructions.
a Determine whether the open user interface processes can be terminated.

Someone may be accessing the DNCS from a remote connection and
should not have their work interrupted.
b If you determine that the user interface process should be terminated, as
root user type kill [process ID] and then press Enter.
Note: Substitute the process ID of the user interface for [process ID].

c Repeat steps 3 and 4.
If no, go to step 5.
5 Complete the following steps to log on to the xterm window as root user.
a Type su - and press Enter. The password prompt appears.
b Type the root password and press Enter.

6 Type . /dvs/dncs/bin/dncsSetup and then press Enter. This command
establishes the DNCS environment as a root user.
Important: Type the period followed by a space before typing /dvs.
