announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for Cisco
®
Catalyst
®
6500 Series Network Analysis Module
(NAM) Software 3.1 for the first-generation NAM. This includes the end-of-sale of software license options for both application
response time (ART) and voice-over-IP (VoIP) monitoring. These licenses are enabled through Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series
NAM Software 3.1 on the first-generation NAM. The last day to order the software and licenses is June 15, 2005. Customers
with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until June 15,
2008.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series NAM Software 3.1 for the first-generation NAM.
Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the second-generation NAM with Cisco NAM Software 3.3 or later to take advantage of new features,
increased performance, and monitoring enhancements. Second-generation NAMs are available in two hardware versions, NAM-1 and NAM-2, to
meet diverse network analysis needs in a switching environment running up to gigabit speeds.

The last-possible ship date that can be requested of Cisco and/or its contract
manufacturers. Actual ship date is dependent on lead time.

End of Software Maintenance
Releases Date
The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance
releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop,
repair, maintain, or test the product software.

End of New Service
Attachment Date
For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract,
this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the
equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.
