Wildcard
This exclusion is the most versatile, but causes the most confusion. The easiest way to identify a
wildcard is the use of the asterik. If the asterik is present in any path, it is a wildcard. This is helpful
on systems with multiple users and multiple drive letters. As stated for the Path exclusion type, this
will not work with CSIDL. If there are multiple drive letters, it is best to start with the wildcard. The
wildcard examples are:
*\Windows\system32\
C:\Windows\system32\*\logs.log
*\Windows\*\*.log
*.db*
Note: The format of the last wildcard example *.db* is processed much slower. Cisco
recommends to list the complete extension instead under Exclusions. See the examples in
the Extension section.
