Roland Saville is a Technical Leader for the SDU team within Cisco, focused on devel-
oping best practice design guides for enterprise network deployments. He has 16
years of Cisco experience as a Systems Engineer, Consulting Systems Engineer, Tech-
nical Marketing Engineer, and Technical Leader. During that time, he has focused on a
wide range of technology areas including the integration of voice and video onto net-
work infrastructures, network security, wireless LAN networking, RFID, and energy
management He has also spent time focusing on the retail vertical market segment.
Prior to Cisco, Roland spent eight years as a Communications Analyst for the Chevron
Corporation. Roland has a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering from
the University of Idaho and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He has co-authored
the Cisco TelePresence Fundamentals book and has eight U.S. Patents.

Steve Kramling is a Software/QA engineer for Cisco’s Systems Development Unit. In
his 12 years at Cisco he has worked in a number of different roles. In the NSITE group,
he tested various Service Provider Network Management solutions. He then worked
on service provider end-to-end, customer-focused solutions using technologies such
as MPLS-VPN, MP-BGP, and Multicast VRF. Next he worked on the SafeHarbor test
team where he focused on enterprise-level Catalyst switching. There he focused on
hardening IOS images by way of systems and regression tests using LAN networking
technologies. Finally as part of the SDU team, he has been working a number of differ-
ent projects including data center SANs, Flexible Netflow feature testing, and border-
less network environments with a focus on energy management.
