This command configures the Diameter endpoint to establish the system as the server side endpoint of the connection.

Exec > Global Configuration > Context Configuration > Diameter Endpoint Configuration 

configure > context context_name > diameter endpoint endpoint_name

 

Entering the above command sequence results in the following prompt: 

[context_name]host_name(config-ctx-diameter)# 

 

server-mode [ demux-mode ] 

 

Specifies that the Diameter proxy is to use the demux manager to identify the appropriate session manager. If 
this keyword is not enabled, the proxy will route the request directly to a session manager. 

Use this command to configure the Diameter endpoint to establish this system as the server side endpoint of 
the connection. When the Diameter proxy receives an incoming request, the proxy identifies the endpoint for 
the request. If the system is in client mode, the proxy extracts the instance ID of the session manager which 
serves as the session-ID of the request. If this command is enabled, the extraction of the instance ID is 
disabled. 

 

The following command sets the system as the server side of the Diameter endpoint and instructs the 
Diameter proxy to use the demux manager to identify the appropriate session manager where the request is to 
be routed:
