Release Notes for Cisco Aironet Client Adapter Install Wizard, Version 1.0 for Windows
OL-3963-01
New and Changed Information
Step 4
The first profile in the Auto Selected Profiles box has the highest priority while the last profile has the
lowest priority. To change the order (and priority) of your auto-selectable profiles, highlight the profile
that you want to move and click the High Priority or Low Priority arrow to move the profile up or
down, respectively.
When auto profile selection is enabled, the client adapter scans for an available network. The profile with
the highest priority and the same SSID as one of the found networks is the one that is used to connect to
the network. If the connection fails, the client adapter tries the next highest priority profile that matches
the SSID and so on.
Step 5
Click OK to save your changes.
Reauthenticate Menu Option
The Reauthenticate option has been added to the Commands drop-down menu in ACU. This option can
be used to force your client adapter to try to reauthenticate using the username and password of the
current profile.
LEAP Authentication Status Screen
The LEAP Authentication Status screen now displays the success or failure of each stage in the LEAP
authentication process. In addition, the screen also includes a Shown minimized next time option that
causes the screen to appear minimized in the Windows system tray on future LEAP authentication
attempts.
Other Changes
The following changes have also been made to the client adapter software for Windows:
Windows 95 is not supported in this software release.
EAP-MD5 authentication is not supported in this software release.
PC-Cardbus cards now support PEAP and EAP-SIM authentication.
Profiles that use a saved LEAP username and password can be included in auto profile selection.
The title bar at the top of the Aironet Client Utility screen now shows the profile that is being used
by the client adapter.
Some 340 series cards may improperly display a radio_name of 4800 in the ACU status bar.
