Considerations For High Availability Deployments
When Cisco EPN Manager in an HA deployment, be sure to consider the following items before performing the installation. All 
of these items are described in 
Network bandwidth and latency restrictions
Virtual IP addresses
Deployment model
Failover type

Install Cisco Evolved Programmable Network Manager
Install Cisco EPN Manager—OVA/VM
Make sure you have met all the requirements listed in 
Deploy the OVA from the VMware vSphere Client
Before you begin deploying the OVA, make sure you have met all the requirements listed in 
Step 1
Launch your VMware vSphere client.
Step 2
Choose File > Deploy OVF Template.
Step 3
In the Deploy OVF Template window, click Browse and select the OVA file. 
Step 4
Click Next.
Step 5
Accept the End User License Agreement, and then click Next.
Step 6
In the OVF Template Details window, verify the OVA file details including the product name, version, and size, and 
then click Next.
Step 7
In the Name and Location window, specify a name and location for the template that you are deploying. The name must 
be unique within the inventory folder, and can contain up to 80 characters.
Step 8
Select the configuration type as Professional, and then click Next

Based on your network size (see 
), you can choose StandardExpress, or Express Plus for 
demo or lab purposes.
Step 9
Select the cluster or host to install the OVA, and then click Next.
Step 10
Select the destination storage for the OVA to be deployed, and then click Next.
Step 11
Select the disk format as Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed or Thick Provision Eager Zeroed for deployment and Thin 
Provision 
for lab or demo installation. 
Note
Cisco recommends you to select Thick Provision Eager Zeroed disk format for deployment.
Step 12
Click Next.
Step 13
Select the network mapping based on the IP configured, and then click Next
Step 14
Verify your options in the Ready to Complete window.
