Examine the list of key files and directories that will be backed up and then 

choose one of the following options. 
• 

If you want to add to the list of key files and directories to be backed up, 

follow these instructions. 
a)  Type y and then press Enter. 
b)  Follow the on-screen instructions to add to the list of files or directories. 

• 

If you do not want to add to the list of key files and directories to be backed 

up, type n and then press Enter. 

Result:  The Do you want to back up the Spectrum database? Message 

appears.

Type y and then press Enter. 
Results:   
• 

The system backs up the Spectrum database. 

• 

The message Do you want to back up the DNCS database? appears. 

9. 

 

Type y and then press Enter. 
Result:  The system backs up the DNCS database and the Application Server 

database if it exists. 

10. 

 

Did the script you executed in step 9 complete without error? 
• 

If yes, type /usr/sbin/shutdown  –y  –g0  –i0 and then press Enter. 
Result:  The DNCS shuts down and an ok prompt appears. 

• 

If no, contact Cisco Services for assistance. 

11. 

 

At the ok prompt, type boot  unipack  –  install and then press Enter. 
Results:   
• 

The DNCS boots from the UniPack and starts the Solaris and DNCS 

installation process. 

• 

The CDE window opens. 

Note:  The installation process may take more than 1 hour. Do not interrupt 

the installation process. The system will reboot several times during the 

installation.

Log on to the DNCS as dncs user.
