Follow these instructions to determine whether the hostname of each Alarm
Manager server is correctly associated with the IP address to which the Alarm
Manager client PCs and the NOC Alarm Manager (if applicable) are
connected.

Log on to the Alarm Manager server as root user.

Type hostname and then press Enter.

Type arp [hostname] and then press Enter.

Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each site Alarm Manager server.

Is the hostname and IP address that is displayed each time associated
with the IP address to which the Alarm Manager client PCs and the NOC
Alarm Manager (if applicable) are connected, as referenced in section (B)
of the pre-installation checklist diagram?

Alarm Manager server is correctly associated with the IP address to which the
Alarm Manager client PCs are connected.

referenced in section (A) of the pre-installation checklist diagram?
Follow these instructions to determine whether the /etc/nodename file for
each Alarm Manager server contains the same hostname that results when
you run the UNIX hostname command.

From an xterm window on each Alarm Manager server, type
cat /etc/nodename and then press Enter.
Result: The contents of the /etc/nodename file are displayed.
