Messaging Settings

n   From the MESSAGING menu, press Settings. The

following options appear in the display:

• MessageViewMode

: Choose a message view. Choose Time 

to list all messages in the order of the time they were received. 
Choose Contact to group messages first by recipient and then 
in the order of the time they were received.

• EntryMode

: Choose the default method for entering text into 

• AutoSaveSent

: Choose whether your messages are saved 

automatically when you send them and whether to display a 
prompt before saving sent messages.

• Auto Erase Inbox

: 

Choose to erase Inbox messages 

automatically or display a prompt before receiving a message 
when the Inbox is full.

• TXTAutoView

: Choose whether to view the full content of a 

text message as the message is received.

• MultimediaAutoReceive

Choose whether to automatically 

receive multimedia messages.

• Quick Text

: View preloaded messages or create new 

messages.

• CMASAlerts

: Manage the receipt of Commercial Mobile Alert 

System (CMAS) alerts. Select Receive Alerts to choose 
whether to receive Extreme alerts, Severe alerts, and/or 
AMBER alerts. Select AudioAlert to turn alert sound on or off. 
Select AlertVibrate to turn alert vibration on or off. Select Alert 
Reminder

 to set the frequency of CMAS alert reminders to

, Every 2 minutes, Every 15 minutes, or Off. Select 

Alert Volume

 to set the volume of the CMAS alert.

• Voicemail#

: Edit or view your Voicemail number. Press Add to 

add a wait or 2-second pause to the voicemail number.

• Callback #

: Choose whether to include a callback phone 

number with outgoing messages. Choose On to edit the 
callback number.

• Signature

: Choose whether to include a text signature in 

outgoing messages. Choose Custom to create or edit the 
signature.
