Input Settings
Set options for user interface behavior.
1. From the Home screen, touch 
 Apps

Developer options.
2. Touch options to enable or disable them:
• Show touches: When enabled, screen touches 
display visual feedback on the screen.
• Show pointer location: When enabled, the 
pointer location displays on a screen overlay.
Drawing Settings
Configures drawing options for the Graphic 
Processing Unit (GPU).
1. From the Home screen, touch 
 Apps 
➔ 
 Settings  
➔ 
Developer options.
• Show layout boundaries: Displays clip bounds, 
margins, and more.
• Show GPU view updates: Flashes the view 
inside a window when drawn with GPU.
• Show screen updates: Areas of the screen 
flash as they update.
• Window animation scale: Configures the scale 
for animation (ranges from off to 10x).
• Transition animation scale: Configures the 
scale for transitioning when using animation 
(ranges from off to 10x).
• Animator duration scale: Configures the scale 
for duration when using animation (ranges from 
off to 10x).
• Disable hardware overlays: Assigns the work 
of rendering to the GPU.
• Force GPU rendering: Allows the use of 2D 
hardware accelerations in applications.

• Strict mode: When enabled, the screen flashes 
while applications perform long operations.
• Show CPU usage: When enabled, CPU usage 
displays on a screen overlay.
• GPU rendering profile: When enabled, uses 2d 
hardware acceleration in applications.
• Enable traces: When enabled, captures traces 
of system activity and other information.
