Pinch and Stretch 
Using two fingers, make a ‘pinching’ motion or ‘stretching’ 
motion on the screen. For example: 
• 
Pinch in to zoom out on photos or screens. 
• 
Stretch out to zoom in on photos or screens. 
Motion 
Your device recognizes motion, to allow you to navigate and 
access features by moving the device in specific gestures. 
To use gestures, enable Motion settings. For more 
information, see “Motion” on page 183. 
Motions 
• 
Quick glance: Reach towards your device to see important 
information while the screen is off. 
• 
Direct call: Lift the device to your ear to call a contact
currently being displayed.  
• 
Smart alert: Be automatically alerted to missed calls and 
messages that occurred while the device was stationary. 
• 
Double tap to top: Double tap on the top of the device to 
go to the top of a list. 
• 
Tilt to zoom: Zoom in or out of the screen in Gallery or 
Internet by tilting the device. 
• 
Pan to move icon: Move the device in a panning motion 
(side-to-side) to move a highlighted icon to a new Home 
screen panel. 
• 
Pan to browse images: Move the device in a panning 
motion while zoomed in on an image to move the focus 
around. 
• 
Shake to update: Shake the device to begin a scan for 
nearby devices. 
• 
Turn over to mute/pause: Turn the device screen-down to 
mute incoming call and pause playing sounds when the 
screen is on. 
• 
Advanced settings: Set options and sensitivity levels for 
Quick glanceTilt to zoomPan to move icon, and Pan to 
browse images
