PyroCluster features a unique and intuitive way to animate puffs; by ‘puffs’ we mean
particles that have had a PyroCluster material applied to them. While puffs and their
parameters can be animated in the regular way using keyframes, PyroCluster also
enables you to animate them using special gradients.
particles that have had a PyroCluster material applied to them. While puffs and their
parameters can be animated in the regular way using keyframes, PyroCluster also
enables you to animate them using special gradients.
The ‘Gradients’ section (look up ‘using gradients’ in the index) contains all the details
of how these gradients are used to produce a wide range of special effects. Here
we will illustrate how a single parameter (color) can be changed depending upon a
puff’s distance from its emitter. Once you’ve mastered this, creating more complex
special effects is merely a matter of applying these principles to several parameters
at once.

From the main menu, choose Objects > Particle > Emitter.
In the Material manager, choose File > PyroCluster > PyroCluster.
Drag the PyroCluster material from the Material manager and drop it onto the
Emitter in the Object manager.
From the main menu, choose Objects > Scene > Environment.
In the Material manager, choose File > PyroCluster > PyroCluster -
