Recording a Memo
Once you’ve established a connection with the answering system, you can record a memo for yourself or
anyone else who has access to the system.  When the system plays messages, it plays the memo along with
the other messages on the tape.
Recording a Memo
1.  Press and release 4 (MEMO).  You will hear a beep and the system will begin to record.
2.  Speak into the phone in a normal tone of voice.
3.  When you are finished, press and release 4 (MEMO).  The day and time will be announced and
recorded with the memo and the system will reset itself to answer calls again.
Setting the Access Code
Before remote phone operation, the Access Code must be set.  The Access Code is a 2-digit number from
“00” to “99”.
1.  Press ANS SYS when the unit is not in use.  The ANS SYS Light will light up.
2.  Press #.  The ANS SYS Light will flash and the Message Window will show the current Access Code.
3.  Enter the new Access Code.  The Message Window will show the new Access Code and a long beep
will be heard at base.  The handset will emit a three part tone.
NOTE:  After power up, the Access Code is automatically set to “00”.
After pressing ANS SYS and #, the user is allowed 15 seconds to input a new Access Code.  If time out
occurs or digits other than “0” to “9” are entered, operation will be stopped and the handset will emit a long
buzzing tone.  The old Access Code will be retained.
Recording a Telephone Conversation
Once you’ve established a connection with the answering system, you can record a telephone conversation.
The telephone conversation will be recorded on the message tape along with other messages.
1.  While you are having a conversation on the cordless handset, press and release ANS SYS and wait for
the ANS SYS indicator to light.
2.  When the indicator lights to show that you have made a connection with the answering system, press
and release 6 (2 WAY).  The system will begin to record
NOTE:  To ensure that you are in compliance with any federal or state regulations regarding recording
a telephone call, you should start the recording process and then inform the caller that you are
recording the call.
3.  To stop recording, press and release 6 (2 WAY), or press and release PHONE to continue your
conversation, or press and release OFF to end the telephone call.
Call Monitoring
As calls come in, the answering system will answer and record messages as long as it is set for automatic
answering operation.  You can use the cordless handset to listen to the callers as they leave messages, and
you can speak to a caller directly if you wish.
Monitoring Calls
1.  When you see the ANS SYS indicator flashing, press and release ANS SYS.
2.  You will hear the caller’s message through the handset.
3.  To end monitoring without answering the call, press and release OFF or return the handset to the base.
Call Intercept
At any time while the answering system is taking a call – during the outgoing announcement or while the
system is recording the caller’s message – you can interrupt the answering system and take the call.  If the
cordless handset is in the base, just pick up the handset and speak to the caller. If the handset is away from
