Playing the HDD

When you directly locate a track numbered over
10, press >10 before entering a two-digit or three-
digit track number.  When you press the >10
button, two bars appear if the album contains 10 to
99 tracks or three bars appear if the album contains
100 or more tracks.  Press 0/10 for “0”.
Example:
To enter track number 30 in an album
containing 100 tracks
Press >10.
“- - -” appears in the display.
Press 0/10.
The flashing bar shifts to the right.
Press 3 and 0/10.

The playback starts from the first track in the
specified album.  You cannot select the album
containing no track.

Play lists are displayed as individual albums.
Albums are displayed as “001” ~ “999” and play
lists are displayed as “P01” ~ “P10.”

Press 0/10 for “0”.

To enter album number 30 when the HDD
contains albums numbered 100 or more

“- - -” appears in the display.
Press 0/10.

You can locate a point only within the current
album.
Note
HDD playback is disabled when the function is set to
external input (i.e., when “Optical In” or “Analog In”
is selected by pressing the OPTICAL or ANALOG
button).
Tips
• You can select the last track in an album quickly by
pressing . (or turning the PLAY/NEXT/PREV
dial towards l on the recorder) while the total
number of tracks and total playing time or the total
number of tracks and remaining time of the album
are displayed.
• You can pause at the beginning of the track by
pressing ./> (or turning the PLAY/NEXT/
PREV dial towards l/L on the recorder)
while the recorder is paused.
• You can pause at the beginning of the album by
pressing ALBUM +/– (or turning the ALBUM dial
on the recorder) while the recorder is paused.
• You can display the play lists (P01 to P10) by
pressing the ALBUM – button while album 001 is
selected (only when play lists are registered).
Using the HDD display
You can check information about the HDD
using the display.
Before the operation, press HDD or press CD/
HDD on the recorder to light up the HDD
indicator.
While in stop mode

To display name information
Press DISPLAY (or DISPLAY/CHAR on the
recorder) repeatedly.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes as follows:
• While no track is selected
Album name 
t Name of the album’s artist
• While a track is selected
Track name 
t Name of track’s artist t

To display time information (only
when no track is selected)
Press TIME repeatedly.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes as follows:
Total number of tracks and total playing time
