Nomar Garciaparra, the star shortstop of the Boston Red

, is one of the most talented and popular players in 

Major League Baseball

. He was a member of the 1992 U.S. 

Olympic Baseball Team, earned Rookie of the Year honors in 
1997 (only the sixth unanimous selection ever), was the MVP 
runner-up in 1998, American League™ batting champion in 
1999 and 2000, and is a four-time All-Star.
