Troubleshooting
Photographed images
The image is 
blurred.
The lens is dirty.
Clean the lens.
{ appeared when taking pictures.
Check the focus on the subject and take 
pictures.
| appeared when taking pictures.
It may cause camera shake. Hold the 
camera steadily.
There is speckling 
on the image.
The picture was taken with a slow shutter 
speed (long exposure) in a high-
temperature environment.
This is a characteristic of CCDs and does 
not indicate a camera fault.
Recording images
Photographed 
images or movies 
are not recorded.
AC power adapter was connected or 
disconnected during turning the camera 
on.
Connect or disconnect the AC power 
adapter only when the camera is off. 
Failing to turn the camera off first can 
result in damage to the xD-Picture Card 
or malfunctions during PC connection.
Continuous 
shooting
Only 1 frame can 
be shot even 
though continuous 
shooting mode 
was set.
A picture is taken using self-timer when 
setting FINAL 3 or LONG PERIOD 
continuous shooting mode.
Only 1 frame can be shot when using 
FINAL 3 or LONG PERIOD continuous 
shooting mode and Self-timer mode 
together.
