Establishing a direct Modem connection

A built in modem is available as an option with your notebook.

To establish a connection using modem

You do not need to switch off your notebook.

Ê 

Insert the LAN/Modem cable into the port on the right side panel of your Notebook, or the back
panel of your port replicator.

A LAN, LAN-Modem or modem PC card is available as an option with your notebook.

To establish a connection using a PC card

Ê 

Insert the PC card into the port located on the left side panel of your notebook ( see section

Follow the instructions on the screen.

To disconnect use the small PC card icon located in your task bar to stop the card:

Place the cursor over the PC card icon.

Ê 

Right click on the icon in your PC card task bar.

Ê 

Select PC card

Select the card you wish to stop and click on

.

Wait for the dialogue box which tells you that it is now safe to remove the PC card.

You may then remove the PC card.
