When the camera detects a person’s face 
in the image, the Face Detection function 
displays a yellow face detection frame 
around the face on the display screen, 
sets the focus (Face Detection AF) 
and compensates the exposure 
(Face Detection AE).
If the subject in the face detection frame 
moves, the frame also moves and 
changes size as it tracks the face.
The Face Detection function can 
recognize up to 32 people’s faces.
If it recognizes multiple faces, the camera 
displays a yellow frame over the main face 
and white frames over the other faces. 
It can display up to a total of 31 frames, 
including both the main and white frames.

In shooting modes other than R (Program), A (Night Scene),

(Movie),   (Digital Microscope), c (Digital SR), F (Digital

saturation, contrast, sharpness, white balance, etc. are automatically 
set to the optimal settings for the selected mode.
