 Alert System

The Alert System is a wireless monitor that illuminates on your motorhome’s dashboard when
the BrakeBuddy is activated.  This system consists of two parts, the Receiver and Transmitter.

The Receiver plugs into a 12v outlet on the
dash of the motorhome.  When the
BrakeBuddy is activated in the towed vehicle,
the Receiver will illuminate.
The Transmitter plugs into the top of the
BrakeBuddy and sends a signal to the Receiver
when the BrakeBuddy is activated.

Before towing, perform a simple test to assure your Alert System is operating properly.  Have someone push
the red test button on the BrakeBuddy and hold it for ten seconds while you are in your motorhome looking
at the Receiver. The Receiver will illuminate for the full ten seconds without blinking. Do not do this while
the motorhome is moving! The Alert Receiver will illuminate: (1) if the BreakAway pin is pulled; (2) when
the test button is depressed; or (3) when the BrakeBuddy activates as a result of forward inertia (i.e., the
braking of the motorhome).  When the BreakAway pin is pulled, in addition to the Receiver illuminating, an
audible buzzer will sound after ten seconds.
