An accurate date and time setting is critical for:

l

firewall schedules.

Wi-Fi power saving support to disable access points at certain times of day.

accurate event tracking in the logs.

A time zone is selected to:

l

adjust the time zone for Daylight Savings Time (DST).

use a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to synchronize the date and time.
