Troubleshooting
For help with your SIM card, HotSync operations,
wireless
applications, and turning your

My communicator will not turn on.
1. Perform a soft reset as described on page 33.

2. Charge your communicator for about 10 minutes before turning it on again.
3. Check the display settings and adjust as needed. See page 4 for details.

I have trouble synchronizing with my computer (performing a HotSync operation)

2. Make sure you have the correct HotSync cable for your computer (see page 29).
3. Confirm that the cable is firmly secured to your computer and your Treo as described
on page 29.
4. Make sure HotSync Manager is running and configured correctly.
Windows. Click the HotSync Manager icon
in the lower-right corner of your
computer screen and make sure Local USB is checked (or Local Serial if you
purchased the optional serial cable). If the HotSync Manager icon is not there, click
Start, select Programs, select Handspring, and then select HotSync Manager.

Macintosh. Go to the Palm folder on your desktop and double-click the HotSync
Manager icon. Click the Serial Port Settings tab. In the first pane, select Local Setup.

under Port (or Modem Port of Printer Port if you purchased the optional serial cable).

5. If you’re using a USB HotSync cable, disconnect all other USB devices, connect the
HotSync cable directly into your computer, and then restart your computer.
