Unpacking and Setting Up
1.1
Equipment Supplied
The following equipment is included normally:
An R&S SX801 exciter (including options)
An R&S VH8201C1 or R&S VH8301C1 amplifier
In some cases, a suitable R&S VH8201C1 or R&S VH8301C1 extended amplifier
Power cable for each instrument
Transmitter kit for the appropriate transmitter type
An R&S SCV8000E/R system manual
Manuals for the R&S SX801 and R&S VH8001Cx

Unpacking the Instruments
Carefully unpack the instruments and make sure that everything is present based on the
delivery documentation.
1.3
Setting Up the Instruments
The instruments can be set up to stand on their feet or they can be mounted in a 19" rack.
If the instruments are arranged on top of one another, the exciter must be on top due to
weight considerations.

Note
Make sure that the installation is stable and has sufficient ventilation. In particular, make
sure that the flow of air through the intake openings on the front panel and through the outlet
openings on the rear panel (fans) is not obstructed.
