Perform the following steps to wrap the cable.
Procedure 1: Wrapping the cable
1. Position the connector. Best results are often obtained by positioning the
connector vertically rather than horizontally.
2. Start the wrap on the cable 0.5 to 2 inches (about 1.5 to 5 cm) below the
connection, wrapping from the bottom up. Wrapping up rather than down allows
the turns of the wrap to provide a shingling effect to help keep moisture out of the
connection.

3. Wrap the cable to a point 0.5 to 2 inches (about 1.5 to 5 cm) above the
connection.
4. Squeeze the wrap to compress and remove any trapped air.
