Before installing and configuring the Oracle 10g R2 RAC environment, verify the following

Kernel parameters 

For HP-UX Itanium® document, refer to Chapter 2, Preinstallation Tasks, in the Oracle Database 
Installation Guide 10g Release 2 (10.2). 

Storage management 

For storage management, use Oracle ASM, HP Cluster File Systems, or RAW Devices. The following 

figure illustrates the supported configurations with Oracle RAC10gR2 on HP-UX.
