Gigabit Active Ethernet ONT for Residential
Deployment

Zhone's indoor Active Ethernet GE 2400 Series ONT is designed for high

bandwidth services deployed over a single fiber to residential customers.

With wire-speed routing, a web UI for local management and support for

Zhone's CPE Management system, the Zhone Active Ethernet solution

paired with the MXK OLT is an efficient way to extend bandwidth

intensive services to the network edge using standard Ethernet frames.

The GE 2400 series with the integrated Fiber Module supports distances

up to 20km and uses the 1490nm Rx and 1310nm Tx wavelengths. 

The GE 2400 Series ONT provides reliable voice service with 2 voice ports

that support industry-standard SIP and MGCP signaling. Zhone's

experience with packet voice ensures interoperability and support with a

large number of soft switches. The two or four Ethernet ports can be

separated into different services allowing the configuration of dedicated

ports for IP video and data. 

The GE 2400 Series ONTs can be either wall mounted inside the home or

placed freestanding on a desktop, and can be equipped with a battery

backup for lifeline services.

The zNID has intuitive Web and command line interfaces. The zNID is

also managed by the Zhone Network Management System (ZMS), using

SNMP. Software upgrades and configuration backups can be handled

automatically by the ZMS using the CPE Manager feature.
