We’d like to introduce your “woofer” to one of ours: AudioQuest has six new high-performance, 

low-distortion subwoofer cables that add some serious bite to any home-entertainment system’s bark. The 

line begins with three models optimized for single-ended applications: Black Lab, Irish Red, and Boxer. 

Husky, Wolf and Wild Dog share the same Triple-Balanced Geometry as AudioQuest’s Rivers and Cosmic 

Series analog interconnects, providing a separate ground-reference conductor for balanced applications 

with XLR plugs, and a lower impedance on ground for single-ended applications using RCA plugs. 

While silver-plated copper conductors are sonically disastrous for full-range analog cables (such as speaker 

cables, or interconnects), their attributes are perfectly suited for high-speed digital applications and 

limited-bandwidth applications such as subwoofer cables. In subwoofer cables the apparent emphasis of 

low-frequency transients is most engaging, offering much of the performance of solid 100% silver 

conductors at a much more affordable price. AQ’s Subwoofer Series starts with Black Lab’s Solid 

Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors, with each successive model adding increasing amounts of silver 

plate; Wild Dog is the alpha with its Solid 100% Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) Conductors (PSS is 

AudioQuest’s best conductor metal).

Other substantial material attributes include the use of Air-Tube Insulation, Carbon-Based Noise- 

Dissipation System (NDS) and all new Hanging-Silver directly over pure Red Copper plugs in the top four 

models. What does all this mean? When your woofer and ours get together for a night at the movies (or 

the symphony), you’ll hear all the power and thunder your sub can deliver with unsurpassed extension, 

“speed” and clarity.
