AudioQuest  is  pleased  to  announce  that  its  “Rivers  Series”  of  analog  interconnects  has  been 

substantially  expanded.  Red  River  is  the  cost-effective  new  entry  to  the  line,  while  venerable 

Diamondback and King Cobra have been supplanted by two new higher performance models, Mackenzie 

and Yukon.

Red River uses Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors and starts at just $99 for a 1.0 meter pair 

with RCAs ($119/1.0 meter pair with XLRs), while Mackenzie ($169/1.0 meter pair) and Yukon ($295/1.0 

meter pair) employ AQ’s best copper conductor metal, Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+). Red River and 

Mackenzie use Nitrogen-Injected Hard-Cell Foam insulation, while Yukon has the added sonic benefit of 

Polyethylene Air-Tubes, which reduce distortion even further. Red River employs a Metal-Layer Noise- 

Dissipation System (NDS), while Mackenzie and Yukon offer the substantial upgrade to a Carbon-Based 

3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System.

Red River, Mackenzie and Yukon also feature AudioQuest’s most-recent thinking on plug design. The 

plugs on all three are new, ground-up designs. In addition, Mackenzie and Yukon’s plugs are machined 

from pure Purple Copper. Red River gold-plated plugs are Cold-Welded, while Mackenzie and Yukon use 

Hanging-Silver, a process in which the copper plugs are submerged (“hung”) into a vat of extreme- 

purity silver to produce a very thick, superior sounding Direct-Silver Plating.

In addition to prepared cables, in a nod to custom installation needs, Red River and Mackenzie will be 

available as custom cables in CL3/FT4 PVC jackets, either by the meter or in 100- and 50-meter spools 

respectively. Red River and Mackenzie RCA and XLR plugs are available in sets of 4, or 10 sets of 4. A 

crimping tool will be available as well.
