General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
•   Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of reach of children.
 •   Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If
they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
•   Leaking or damaged normal / rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid burns; there-
fore, use suitable safety gloves.
•   Normal / rechargeable batteries may not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fi re. There is a risk of
explosion!
•   Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries
that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
•   Never mix standard batteries with rechargeable batteries, use either standard batteries or rechargeable
batteries.
•   Do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different charge levels (e. g. full and half-full batteries/
rechargeable batteries).
•   Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
•   Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to plus
and minus).
 •   If you wish to use rechargeable batteries please note that, due to the lower output voltage (batteries =
1.5 V, rechargeable batteries =1.2 V), the operating time will decrease.
When using rechargeable batteries in the outdoor or rain sensor, keep in mind that rechargeable batteries
are more temperature-sensitive than normal batteries (winter operation).
Therefore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure long-lasting and
reliable operation.
Getting Started
a) Outdoor sensor
•   Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor by unscrewing two screws of the battery
compartment cover.
•   First (before inserting the batteries) set the transmission channel using the slide switch in the battery
compartment. The weather station can display data from 3 outdoor sensors, each of which must be set
to another channel. If you only have one outdoor sensor, set it to channel 1. The channel number will be
shown on the left of the display after inserting the batteries.
•   Insert two AAA/Micro batteries in the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor. Please observe the
correct polarity (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
•   Press “°C / °F” to switch between °C (degrees Celsius) and °F (degrees Fahrenheit) of the temperature
indicator on the display of the outdoor sensor.
•   The red LED below the display fl ashes briefl y when the outdoor sensor transmits readings.
•   Before you close the battery compartment, put the rain sensor and then the weather station in operation.
b) Rain sensor
•   Remove the cover of the rain sensor. This is clipped to the bottom with two hooks (directly adjacent to the
two mounting holes). If necessary, use a small screwdriver and bend the hooks gently inward to remove
the cover.
•   Remove the battery compartment cover, it is clipped at the left and right edge.
•   Insert two AA/Mignon batteries in the battery compartment of the rain sensor. Pay attention to the correct
polarity (note positive / + and negative / -); there is a corresponding illustration on the side of the battery
case.
•   Place the battery compartment cover on the correct position.
•   Slide the cover on to the rain sensor until the two hooks click in place.
c) Weather station
•   Open the battery compartment on the back of the weather station and insert three batteries of type AAA/
Micro, with the correct polarity (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-, see illustration in the battery compart-
ment).
Permanent lighting of the display is not possible during battery operation. If the display light
should be turned on permanently, use the supplied wall plug transformer. The batteries then
serve as a backup during power failure.
•   The display will light up and all display segments will appear shortly. The weather station emits some
beeps. Then the weather station starts the search for available outdoor sensors and the rain sensor. The
display of the rain sensor and the outdoor sensor starts fl ashing.
In the outdoor sensor, you can press the “TX” button briefl y to transmit a data packet with the temperature
value, so as to facilitate the weather station in its search for the outdoor sensor.
•   Close the battery compartment of the weather station (and also that of the outdoor sensor).
•   Connect the circular connector of the wall plug transformer supplied to the corresponding socket on the
weather station.
•  Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket.
Before setting the time and date or making any other settings, wait until the search for the avail-
able outdoor sensors and the rain sensor is complete.

If necessary, a manual search of the outdoor sensors or the rain sensor can be started later.
Installation/Setup
The radio range between the outdoor sensor / rain sensor and weather station is up to 30m in
open space. Walls, metallised insulating glass window or other infl uences may reduce this range
considerably.

Therefore, check the correct reception of the readings before you install the outdoor sensor and
the rain sensor.
•   The weather station may be placed and used only in dry, closed rooms. Place it on a fl at, stable, suffi ciently
large surface. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using an appropriate underlay, otherwise it may cause
scratches.
Place the cable to the wall plug transformer so nobody can trip over it.
•   The outdoor sensor is suitable for installation in outdoor areas. Suspend it to a screw or nail. To read the
display well, installation on the side of a window is recommended.
You should protect the outside sensor from direct precipitation; otherwise the air temperature cannot be
measured. Never use the outside sensor in or under water; this will damage it!
•   The rain sensor can be bolted to the edge through two openings. Select a suitable mounting location; this
must be such that rain can freely reach the collection opening. For example, the roof of a carport may be
optimum.
Replacing the batteries
•   Battery replacement on the outdoor sensor and/or rain sensor is required when a small battery symbol
appears within the temperature and/or rainfall display.
•   Following battery replacement, start a sensor search at the weather station for the signal of the outdoor
sensor or rain sensor, if necessary (see chapter “Starting a manual search for outdoor sensors”).
You should replace the batteries of the weather station at least every 2 years as they can be
used only as back-up batteries in case of power failure. Used up batteries may leak and damage
the weather station or even the surface on which the weather station is mounted.
Switching between 12/24h mode + setting the time
•   Press and hold the “CLOCK” button for a few seconds, until the display for the 12/24h mode fl ashes.
•  Choose between the 12h and the 24h mode using the “+” button.
In the 12h mode, the symbol “AM” appears to the left of the time during the fi rst half of the day
and “PM” appears during the second half of the day.
•  Briefl y press the “CLOCK“ button and the hour display fl ashes. Use the “+” button to set the hours. If the
“+” key is held down longer, quick adjustment of the value is performed.
•  Briefl y press the “CLOCK” button, you can advance to setting the minute, the year, the display format of
month/date (“M/D”) or date/month (“D/M”) of the month and the date.
The adjustment is made using the “+” button (hold down longer for quick adjustment).
