6.3.12 SYNC Button
The SYNC button.
The
SYNC
button activates/deactivates the synchronization of the Deck to the current tempo
master (another Deck or the Clock). The button is lit when synchronization is activated.
Activating the synchronization disables the

Pressing
SHIFT

SYNC
sets the Deck to tempo master—the Deck tempo then serves as tempo
reference for all other synched Decks and FX. When the Deck is set as tempo master, the
MAS-
TER
indicator lights up in the Deck Display (see

Adjusting the Beatgrid with the S4
The
SYNC
button can also be used to adjust the Beatgrid of a track.
The Beatgrid, which serves to synchronize playback of tracks, may not have been correctly set
by the automatic beat detection. In this case you must adjust it manually to the beats of the
track.
Most commonly, Beatgrids do have the correct tempo but are shifted relatively to the beats of
the track. To correct such an offset proceed as follows:

Play a reference track with a correct Beatgrid in Deck B and set Deck B to tempo master

Play the track with the incorrect Beatgrid in Deck A and activate
SYNC
on Deck A.
3.
Use the outer rim of the jog wheel to tempo bend Deck A until the beats match the beats
of Deck B.
