RS 15 Sub A Manual 1.1
ENGLISH
Welcome to the
PowerWorks
®
family!
The RS 15 A SUB is an active subwoofer featuring an additional stereo
power amp for driving PowerWorks
®
RS 82 or RS 122 satellite speakers.
All electronic circuits required to operate the system are housed in the
subwoofer enclosure. This includes crossovers, frequency response com-
pensation circuitry, and separate limiters for the satellites and subwoofer,
as well as power amps and protective circuits.
You no longer have to worry about tweaking frequencies and levels.
It’s plug & play all the wayæsimply set up the system components,
connect five cords, and you're ready to roll.
Here’s hoping you enjoy using your rig as much as we enjoyed
designing it!

Control Features and Connectors
1. Inputs
The two electronically balanced XLR ports serve as audio signal inputs.
You also have two parallel outputs (Through) available for connecting
additional power amps. The RS 15 Sub A can handle a stereo or mono
signal, so you can combine two systems and operate each in mono mode
to provide sound reinforcement for larger venues. Each input is equipped
with a dedicated Gain knob that controls its sensitivity, enabling you to
adjust the RS 15 Sub A’s power amps to match the given input signal
level.
Note:
If you want to operate the RS 15 Sub A in mono mode, you must patch
the mono input signal through to the second input of the RS 15 Sub A
using a microphone cord. In other words, connect the cord from the
Through port of the input that you're using to the second input.
This is the only way the mono signal will be sent to both satellites.
2. Speaker Outputs
Satellites (RS 82 or RS 122) connect to these two Speakon sockets. The
satellite power amps’ impedance is four ohms; never connect speakers
rated lower than four ohms.
3. Mains
Use this socket to connect RS 15 SUB A to a mains power supply. Before
you plug the system into a wall outlet, ensure your local mains voltage
matches the specification indicated on the device. If you attempt to run
RS 15 SUB A on the wrong mains voltage, you can seriously damage the
power amps.
4. Power On
Once you have connected all the required cords, you can switch the
system on.
5. Ground Lift
This switch separates the signal ground from the chassis ground,
enabling you to eliminate potential ground loops.
CAUTION: Never tape over the plug’s ground terminal - this
endangers lives!
