The audio category settings change the way in which the 

sound of your player is set up.
To check the current audio settings:

Navigate to the Audio category of the Settings Menu.

A  window  will  open  which  will  display  the  current  audio 

PCM Downsampling:
This  setting  sets  up  the  digital  audio  output  (SPDIF)  to 

match an AV surround decoder or digital amplifier that 

you may have connected.
There are 3 settings available -

Off.  Choose  this  setting  if  you  are  not  using  the 

•

digital audio output connection.
96kHz. Choose 96kHz if you have connected the 

•

digital  audio  output  to  an  AV  surround  decoder 

that is compatible with a 96k digital source.
48kHz. Choose 48kHz if you have connected the 

•

digital  audio  output  to  an  AV  surround  decoder 

that  is  not  compatible  with  a  96k  digital  source. 

In  this  case,  any  96k  audio  programs  will  be 

downsampled to 48k.

Digital Output:
The  Digital  Output  setting  enables  you  to  match  your 

player  correctly  to  the  audio  system  in  your  TV  or  AV 

surround decoder.

Choose  PCM  if  your  audio  plays  through  a  two 

•

channel stereo TV or audio system.
Choose  Bitstream  HD  if  your  AV  system  includes 

•

an advanced surround decoder with features such 

as Dolby TrueHD.
Choose  Bitstream  Legacy  if  your  AV  system 

•

includes  a  surround  decoder,  but  this  does  not 

feature Dolby TrueHD.
Choose Bitstream Mixed to mix the multi-channel 

•

sound  into  two  channels.  This  setting  is  correct 

if your system includes a multi-channel TV or AV 

surround decoder featuring Dolby Pro Logic or a 

similar decoding system.

NOTE:  PiP  audio  and  effects  audio  are  not  available 

when the Bitstream HD or Bitstream Legacy settings are 

selected.

Dynamic Range Control:
Switching  on  the  Dynamic  Range  Control  setting  will 

enhance low level sounds and reduce the volume of high 

level sounds. This may be helpful when listening at low 

volumes or late at night.
NOTE: The Dynamic Range Control setting is only active 

when a movie encoded with Dolby Digital is playing.
