3   Press [MENU] to store the setting.
4   Press any key other than [MON], [UP]/ [DOWN] or [ ] to exit 

Menu mode.

Choosing the correct frequency step size is essential in order to 

select your exact receive frequency using the 

Selector (or [UP]/ 

DOWN). You can select your desired frequency step size from: 5, 

6.25, 10, 12.5, 15, 20, 25, 30, 50, or 100 (kHz).
To change the frequency step size:
1   Press [VFO], then press [F], [3].

•   The current frequency step size appears.

2   Rotate the Selector (or press [UP]/ [DOWN]) to select your 

desired frequency step size.

3   Press any key other than [MON], [UP]/ [DOWN] or [ ] to exit 

the frequency step size selection.

Note:  If you change to a frequency step size that does not match the 

current operating frequency, the transceiver automatically adjusts the 

frequency to match the new frequency step size.

To illuminate the display:
Press 

[ ].

•  If no other key is pressed, the light turns OFF approximately 5 

seconds after releasing 

[ ].

•   Press any key (including

 [PTT]) other than [ ] while the display 

is lit to restart the 5-second timer.

•   Press 

[ ] while the display is lit to immediately turn the light 

OFF.
