Install exhaust hood. Use caulking compound to seal exterior wall opening around exhaust hood.152. Connect vent to exhaust hood. Vent must fit inside exhaust hood. Secure vent to exhaust hood with 4" (102 mm) clamp.153. Run vent to dryer location. Use the straightest path possible. See “Determine vent path” in “Plan Vent System.” Avoid 90º turns. Use clamps to seal all joints. Do not use duct tape, screws, or other fastening devices that extend into the ...15Install Leveling Legs161. To protect the floor, use a large flat piece of cardboard from the dryer carton. Place cardboard under the entire back edge of the dryer.162. Firmly grasp the body of the dryer (not the console panel). Gently lay the dryer on the cardboard. See illustration.163. Examine the leveling legs. Find the diamond marking.164. Screw the legs into the leg holes by hand. Use a wrench to finish turning the legs until the diamond marking is no longer visible.165. Place a carton corner post from dryer packaging under each of the 2 dryer back corners. Stand the dryer up. Slide the dryer on the corner posts until it is close to its final location. Leave enough room to connect the exhaust vent.16Connect Vent161. Using a 4" (102 mm) clamp, connect vent to exhaust outlet in dryer. If connecting to existing vent, make sure the vent is clean. The dryer vent must fit over the dryer exhaust outlet and inside the exhaust hood. Check that the vent is secured to e...162. Move dryer into its final location. Do not crush or kink vent.163. (On gas models) Check that there are no kinks in the flexible gas line.164. Once the exhaust vent connection is made, remove the corner posts and cardboard.16Level Dryer16Reverse Door Swing161. Place a towel or soft cloth on top of the dryer or work space to protect the surface.16Remove the door assembly161. Remove the 4 screws that hold the door hinge on the front panel of the dryer.162. Lay the door assembly on a flat, protected surface with the inside (inner door assembly) facing up.163. Remove the 6 Phillips head screws to release the outer door assembly from the inner door assembly, as indicated below. See illustration. It is important that you remove only the 6 indicated screws.164. Lift the inner door assembly off the outer door assembly.165. Rotate outer door 180°.17Reverse hinge171. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to remove 2 plug strips from the inner door. Slide the head of the screwdriver under the plugs, being certain not to scratch the inner door surface. Lift up.172. Remove the 4 screws that attach to the inner door hinge and move the hinge to the other side. Reinstall the 4 screws.173. Reinstall plug strips on opposite side of the inner door.174. Check for fingerprints on the glass. Clean glass if necessary.175. Place the inner door assembly inside the outer door assembly. To fit correctly, the inner door assembly edge fits completely inside the outer door assembly edge.176. Reassemble the inner and outer door assemblies with the 6 screws.17Reverse the strike171. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to remove plug strip from the dryer door opening. Slide the head of the screwdriver under the plugs, being certain not to scratch the dryer surface. Lift up.172. Remove the strike173. Insert strike on the opposite side.17Reinstall the door181. Reattach door to dryer front panel with the 4 screws.182. Check for fingerprints on the glass. Clean glass if necessary. Close door and check that it latches securely.18Complete Installation181. Check that all parts are now installed. If there is an extra part, go back through the steps to see which step was skipped.182. Check that you have all of your tools.183. Dispose of/recycle all packaging materials.184. Check the dryer’s final location. Be sure the vent is not crushed or kinked.185. Check that the dryer is level. See “Level Dryer.”186. For power supply cord installation, plug into an outlet. For direct wire installation, reconnect power.187. Remove the blue protective film on the console and any tape remaining on the dryer.188. Read “Dryer Use.”189. Wipe the dryer drum interior thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any dust.1810. Select a Timed Dry heated cycle, and start the dryer. Do not select the Air Dry Temperature setting.1811.
