Figure 2-2 shows a PXI MXI-3 card just before installation in the system
controller slot of a National Instruments PXI-1000 mainframe.

Connect the appropriate serial cable to both primary and secondary
MXI-3 cards. If you are using a fiber-optic cable, be sure to remove the
protective caps from the connectors.

Do not remove the cable after the system is powered on. Doing so may crash

the system.

2.

Turn on the system containing your secondary MXI-3 card.

3.

Turn on the system containing your primary MXI-3 card.
