IBM ISDN PC Card:User’s Guide
 
2. Configure Dial-Up Networking connection. Select the newly created Dial-Up 
Networking connection. Right-click and select Properties. Deactivate Use 
country code and area code
. Click  Server type..." -> Type of Dial-Up Server: 
"PPP: Windows 95/98, Windows NT 3.5, Internet" -> Advanced options: 
activate "Log on to network" and "enable software compression" -> Allowed 
network protocols: select NetBEUI
. Click OK and OK again.
3. Activate Dial-Up Networking connection: Double-click the new connection in 
Dial-up Networking. Verify that the number to dial is correct, then click 
Connect
.
4. Map a folder on the remote computer's drive: Start Explorer . Click on Tools 
and select Map network drive…. Select an available drive. Enter a path with 
the following notation: "\\<computer name>\<server's shared folder>". 
Click OK.
Note:
 Please make sure you enter the path name with the correct notation!

:\\SERVER\TEST
Configuring the Windows 95/98 server:
1. Enter a name for the computer: Control Panel -> Network -> Identification 
and type a name.
Example
: SERVER
2. Activate File and Print Sharing: 
Control Panel -> Network -> Control Panel -> Network -> File and Print 
Sharing
. Activate the option I want to be able to give others access to my 
files
.
3. Share a folder:
Start Explorer. Select the folder to be shared, e.g. TEST.  Right-click and select  
Share...  -> Share as..
. Enter a name for the shared folder, e.g. TEST. Go to  
Access type
 and select Activate Read/Write Access . Click OK.
4. Activate Server Mode:
My Computer -> Dial-Up Networking -> Connections -> Dial-Up Server... 
Select ISDN RAS (PPP over ISDN) modem . Activate Caller Access
Setting the ISDN number for incoming calls:  
In the default configuration, 
incoming data calls are accepted for all MSNs.
To accept data calls for only one MSN of your ISDN line, enter ATS 42=1; 
S50=<MSN>
 for the virtual modem ISDN RAS (PPP over ISDN).
For more information on RAS configuration, see the Windows 95/98 
documentation or contact your dealer or Microsoft.
Remote access service (RAS) with Windows NT
To use Windows NT RAS, the NDIS WAN CAPI Device Driver for Windows NT 
or the ISDN CAPI Port Device Driver for Windows NT must be installed.  These 
device drivers can be used in Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0. The documentation
