Camera Issues
•  Camera not detected
•  No green LED for camera
•  Excessive blooming
•  Poor White Balance
•  Poor Focus
•  Green image
•  Image distortion

1.  Launch Apple System Profiler and confirm that 

system’s USB hub and built-in camera are visible.

2.  Verify camera lens and glass panel are clean and 

free of contaminants. Clean glass panel if needed.

3.  Launch Photo Booth to verify that green indicator 

LED near camera lens turns on and image quality 

is acceptable.

1.  Launch Apple System Profiler 

and verify built-in camera is 

visible in USB list of devices.

Yes

Camera recognized. 

Go to step 2

No

Inspect and reseat camera 

cable connection on logic 

board. Go to step 2.

2.  Launch Photo Booth. Verify if 

green LED near camera lens 

turns ON and image appears 

normal.

Yes

Camera functioning. Return 

system to user.

No

Remove glass and clean both 

sides. Clean camera lens.

If issue persists, replace 

camera cable.

If issue persists, replace 

camera.

If issue persists, replace logic 

board.
