1. Connection Type:  Specify the type of connection between the device driver and the relay unit. 

DIRECT SERIAL: The relay unit is connected using an RS-232 to RS-422 converter or using an RS-422 PC serial port. 

INTERNET PROTOCOL: The relay unit is connected to the serial port on a networked device. 

MODEM: This feature is reserved for future development. 

2. Settings:  Complete the instructions provided below for the appropriate connection type specified in Step 1. The settings must match the 

settings specified within the relay unit. Refer to the CM9760-REL installation/operation manual for information on unit settings.

Select the COM port the relay unit is connected to from the drop-down box.

Set the baud rate to match the DIP switch settings on the relay unit’s IN port. 19200 is recommended. If the relay unit is daisy-chained 
from another relay unit, use the same baud rate for all the units in the chain.

The remaining settings should specify no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no flow control.

d.

Refer to Step 3 for instructions on completing the fields in the Miscellaneous section.
