4 STEP CHARGE 
 
STEP 1 – BOOST: During this period, the charger delivers a maximal current and the voltage increases progressively to 
reach 14.4V or 14.8V (2425CED: 28.8V or 29.6V) according to the battery type. This step is depending of the initial status 
of your batteries. The red-Orange L.E.D. will be on during this phase. 
 
STEP 2 – ABSORPTION: Adjustable period where the voltage is kept at its maximum and the current decreases in order to 
optimize the battery charge. During this phase the yellow L.E.D. will come on. 
 
STEP 3 – FLOAT: The voltage is kept at a level of 13.6V (2425CED: 27.2V) in order to maintain the charge without 
increasing the temperature of the batteries. They can be left connected without any damage. Only the bottom green L.E.D. 
is on. - POWERPACK: Full current is available for on-board supply. 
 
STEP 4 – RESET: If the battery voltage goes down below 11.5V (2425CED: 23.0V), the charge cycle starts all over again 
with step 1. 
  
 
1 : Battery type : Ensure that the colour of the L.E.D. is in accordance with the battery type selected. 
2 : Overvoltage: The red light indicates an overvoltage due to an overcharging (from solar panels for 
example). 
3 : High charger temperature: The L.E.D. becomes yellow and the charger stops when the 
temperature is too high. Ensure that the fan is working. The charger will restart at a lower 
temperature. 
4 : High battery temperature: The charger switches off if the battery temperature reaches 50 °C. 
Investigate your batteries and their water level. Restart your charger only if you are sure all is OK. 
5 : Constant current : The L.E.D. is orange when there is a constant current from the charger to the 
batteries. 
6 : The L.E.D. becomes yellow when the voltage reaches 14.0V (2425CED: 28.0V). The charger is in 
step 2: absorption  
7 : Float /powerpack : The L.E.D. indicates that the charger is in step 3.
