Description 
SOL 
Start of Line (or start of message) character. 
ID1 
The first character of a two-character field that identifies the DOS terminal that 
is to receive this message. 
ID2 
The second character of a two-character field that identifies the DOS terminal 
that is to receive this message. 
TYPE 
A single character that allows the network device to determine if it should 
transmit the message to a DOS terminal or if it is a protocol message requiring 
some different action. 
CTRL 
LXE Control Character. 
N/EF 
Number or Expanded Function character (may or may not be present). 
SEQ # 
Sequence number of message (may or may not be present). 
TEXT 
The actual content of the message. 
EOL 
End of Line (or end of message) characters.

LXE Control Character. Allows the host computer to determine whether this is 
a form message and whether it contains a sequence number.

Sequence number of message (may or may not be present). 
TEXT 
A group of characters including the message header and any data entered by 
the DOS terminal operator. 
EOL 
End of Line (or end of message) characters.
