LDS Plus Reference Guide
Braces
When you use a barcode input device to enter data, the DOS terminal may insert right and left
braces around the entry depending upon how you set the LDS Plus BCBraceInhibit parameter.
These braces affect the number of characters that are returned to the host.
For example:
<E3Ma57B]{P987654321}10_A33B19C
R
L
If you use a barcode input device to enter data when the BCBraceInhibit parameter is set to No
and the number of characters entered (including the left and right braces inserted by the TE) is
greater than the field length, the DOS terminal truncates the entry deleting the right brace. The
host computer identifies incomplete data by checking for a right brace for each left brace.
