11 THE GLOBAL MENU
The Global menu allows access to settings that affect how the ReMOTE SL works. Press the GLOBAL button on the 
ReMOTE SL to access it. There are seven pages in the Global menu that you can scroll through using the SCROLL 
BUTTONS. Additionally, pressing the GLOBAL menu button a second time accesses the Global Keyboard Zones menu, 
which has two pages. Repeated presses of the GLOBAL menu button will switch between the Global menu and the Global 
Keyboard Zones menu. Further information on the Global Keyboard Zones menu can be found in section 16.
Here is an explanation of the settings available on each page of the global menu:
Page 1
Left and Right Contrast: Adjust these to change the display contrast for the left and right LCD displays. Note that these 
settings will only have an effect on early ReMOTE SL models.
Page 2
Mem Prot (Memory Protect): With this set to ‘ON’, templates on the ReMOTE SL cannot be overwritten. Global settings 
can be saved regardless of whether this is set to ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’.
USB1To and USB2To: These set where MIDI data received from a computer on USB port 1 or USB port 2 is routed to 
(see section 4.5). The routing options are:
OFF: MIDI data is not routed through the ReMOTE SL
M1: routed to MIDI OUT port 1
M2: routed to MIDI OUT port 2
M1 M2: routed to both MIDI OUT port 1 and MIDI OUT port 2
MIDITo: This sets where MIDI data received at the MIDI in connector on the back of the ReMOTE SL is routed to  
(see section 4.5). The routing options are:
OFF: MIDI data is not routed through the ReMOTE SL
U1: routed to USB Port 1
U2: routed to USB Port 2
M1: routed to MIDI OUT Port 1
M2: routed to MIDI OUT Port 2
