You can select a DX1 Key by clicking on its image in the Key
Assignment Table. You can also select a DX1 Key by pressing the
corresponding Key on your Pad. Selecting a Key will automatically
select and show any associated Macro in the Category/Macro View
region. This feature is useful if you want to quickly check the
function of one of your DX1 Keys. You can open Ergodex Manager
and press the DX1 Key in question on your Pad to see its Macro
assignments in the current Profile.
Here, pressing Key 18 on the Pad selects the corresponding Key in
the Key Assignment Table, and selects the assigned Macro “Insert
Bitmap”. The Key images in the Table will animate as you press the
Keys on the Pad.
At the bottom of the Ergodex Manager Main Screen is a Help Bar.
The Help Bar provides useful information related to your current
actions in Ergodex Manager.
To the right of the Help Bar is the Connection Status icon. When
your DX1 Pad is connected and working properly, a picture of a USB
plug will be displayed. If your Pad is disconnected, a red “x” will
appear over the USB plug.

Along with the Main Screen view, Ergodex Manager provides a Skin
view that allows you to create, edit, and print Skins for your Program
Profiles. To make a Skin, first select the Profile (in the Program
Profile Selection Box) for which you would like to use. Next, select
“View > Skin View” from the Menu.
The Skin view is organized differently from the Main view. The list to
the left of the Skin view represents the DX1 Keys and shows their
currently assigned Macros, if any. The right side of the window
represents a virtual DX1 Pad. You can drag the DX1 Key images
onto this area, creating Footprints of the Keys. You can also select
an image or picture as a background for this template. To navigate
back to the Main Screen view, select “View > Main View.”
