Putting the phone into service
2.2.1 Connecting the phone
Your IP phone is designed as a terminal for connection to an Ethernet IP network.
Connect all necessary cables before putting your device into service. To do that,
turn the phone upside down and connect the cables as follows:
• Insert the plug of the handset spiral cable with the long end into the socket
“ ” and the one with the short end into the handset.
• Plug a network connection cable into the “LAN” socket on the back of the
IP 100 and the other end into a network connection socket.
• Fit the RJ9 connector from the power supply into the socket with the
corresponding symbol on the phone and plug the power supply into a
suitable power socket.
• If the connection cables are suitably fitted, then all services will be loaded
step by step. When its own number appears in the display, the phone is
ready for use. The phone displays the date and time in the top line, if it has
access to a time server.
2.2.2 Registration
The innovaphone IP 100 phone is prepared for DHCP operation. All necessary
settings are supplied automatically to the phone, via the DHCP service. The
administrator will register the device with the PBX:
1. Create a new user in the innovaphone PBX. As “Hardware ID”, enter the
MAC address of the phone. The MAC address is on the bottom of the
phone. It consists of the last 12 digits below the bar code and must be
separated by a hyphen (009033-xxxxxx).
2. Connect the phone correctly Section 2.2, “Putting the phone into service”
and switch it on by connecting the power.
Tip
If you only have one network connector at your workplace, which you have
been using for your PC up to now, proceed as follows. Connect the IP phone
to the network connector. Use the second network cable to connect your PC
to the “PC” socket on the IP phone. The phone has an integrated switch.
