Sirius has made a few key improvements to the SIRIUS S50 recently, and is alerting 
customers and the support groups to download and install these updates to get the most 
from the S50 experience.  The new software version is V1.4.1. 
 
S50 Update Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s): 

Q. What improvements can I expect once I update my S50 to V1.4.1? 
A. You can expect several improvements to your S50 from this update. 

•  Schedule recording limit is increased to 4 hours  

•  Schedule recording starts even if the start recording time has passed when the 

unit is turned on  

•  Ordering My Sirius Shows are in chronological order to facilitate smooth playback 

of schedule recordings  

•  Improvements to the overall operation of the S50 

 
Q. How do I update my S50 to take advantage of all the improvements? 
A.  Follow these steps to download the S50 updates: 
 

Step 1:  Open your My SIRIUS Studio software on your computer. 
Step 2:  Make sure you have the latest version of My SIRIUS Studio -- V1.0.2.   
Step 3:  Make sure you have an active Internet connection. 
Step 4:  Connect your S50 to your computer using the USB cable supplied with your 

S50. 

Step 5:  In My SIRIUS Studio, click on the gear icon 

 next to the S50 icon OR go 

to File

@Device Settings@Check for Software Update. 

Step 6:  Click on “Update Software” to download the complete set of S50 software 

and firmware updates. 

Step 7:  Follow the instructions that appear in your My SIRIUS Studio software to 

complete the updates. 

 
Q. What updates are included? 
A.  Only the S50 software needs to be updated. There are no updates to the My SIRIUS 

Studio PC software, S50 firmware or any dock software. 

 
Q. How do I check what version of My SIRIUS Studio software is on my computer? 
A. The version number is located at the top of the software or go to Help
