in history: Leica I f and the MINOX

A Leica is always more than just a camera, as
its inventor again proved with the Leica I f.
This classic camera was first presented in
1951 and production continued up until
1956. The Leica I f is a simplified version of
the Leica II f, which does without the view-
finder and rangefinder. The first edition in
1951 brought out 2,200 cameras and a
further 15,000 were made between 1952
and 1956.
And what about MINOX ? For a long time
this name, whose triumphant progress
also began in the early 1950s, has been
synonymous with miniature cameras. The
creation of the genius Walter Zapp, now 96,
provides unparalleled evidence of how 375
individual components can be combined
into a sensational (small) unit.
